Here are the Adoration Basics:

1. Adoration Chapel is either in the North Lot or South lot. You can use either he north door or the south door. If you use the South door, please remember to walk through, to the north lobby, to sign in on the IPad Kiosk.

2. To gain access for off hours (8A-5P M-F), you need a card. To get a card, you'll need to visit Jen Downing in person at SMG. Her work phone number is 317-867-3213 extension 1135. For non-SMG parishioners only, please bring a letter from the parish you belong to verify you are registered parishoner .

3. Regular adorers (at regular time) and substitute adorers should sign in on the IPad Kiosk located on top of the table just outside the Adoration Chapel. Guests and Adorers not at usual time should also always sign in.

4. It is common proper Catholic practice to address our Lord respectfully, by genuflecting on two knees (if you are able) upon entering and exiting the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, when Jesus is exposed in the Monstrance.

5. If the Monstrance is empty/turned at 45 degree angle, you need only genuflect on one knee (if you are able), similar your actions In the main sanctuary.. (If you are unable to genuflect, a bow is acceptable)

6. The two red candles should be lit at all times Jesus is in the Monstrance, one on each side. If a candle burns out, replace with a new candle. Candles lighter are available under the Ambo (that is the podium right of the alter).

7. Once in the Chapel, we ask that you conduct is respectful.

8. If you are a regular adorer, next adorer does not show up after your completed hour, and need to leave:

a. please cover the Monstrance with cover that is under the ambo (where the reader reads from).

b. if it is between 7AM-6PM on Monday-Friday, call parish office 317-867-3213 extension 1135 so that the doors can be locked.

c. if it on Saturday between 7AM-6PM, text 317-695-2304 the words “No Adorers in Chapel” so that the doors can be locked.

d. if it is after 7PM, turn off the lights.

9. If you arrive between 7AM and PM Monday-Friday and the door happens to be locked, please call parish office at 317-867-3213 extension 1135.

10. If you arrive between 7AM and 6PM Saturday, and the door happens to be locked, please call text 317-695-2304 the words “Adorer in Chapel” so that doors can be unlocked.

11. Be friendly! Please introduce yourself to the adorers who share your hour.

12. Please communicate with adorers that share your hour, so you know when to request a Substitute (when NONE of you will be there). It is appropriate that all adorers request a sub, so that we know for sure a sub is required, and the online schedule appears in Yellow. The Yellow box makes it easy for subs to see what we need. Sub requests need to be at least 7 full days early!

13. When you're ready to leave, it is appropriate to genuflect on both knees (if you are physically able) on your way out of the Chapel.

15. Chapel closes on Holy Thursday at 7:00PM (when Holy Thursday Mass starts). Adoration Continues after Mass in Main Sanctuary til midnight. Chapel closed completely on Good Friday and Holy Saturday. Chapel reopens Sunday with first regular adorer at 4:00PM

16. Chapel closes on Christmas Eve at 3:00PM. Chapel closed completely on Christmas Day.
